Coils of the Yamuna
“compelling ... absolute candor ... a strong book”
— NeWest Review
Coils of the Yamuna is a meditation on love and travel, a tour through the Himalayan
foothills, New Delhi and Jaipur; people and stories intertwined with letters and poems. The author summons a variety of speakers to mirror his impressions of the joy and sorrow, the beauty and paradox he sees in modern India.
John Weier studied the history of religions, and works as a luthier. He is a Past President of the League of Canadian Poets. He lives and works in Winnipeg. His previous books include several poetry collections, Steppe: a novel and the nonfiction Marshwalker (Turnstone Press).
