CHSR Poetry Slam
Andrew Titus, Slam MC & Editor

Poetry Slams are a gone-public, get-away-from-that-lonely-writer-in-a-garret-mentality, inhibition-free, no-holds Theatresports for the bard in everyone. The CHSR Poetry Slam captured in this book happened in The Cellar pub on the University of New Brunswick-Fredericton campus, in the Poets’ Corner of Canada. Some of the poet-slammers participating would never call themselves writers yet they have all written poems. Others have been editing and publishing periodicals, anthologies and chapbooks for several years.

Contributing Slam Poets: Shelly Collette, Kathleen Wilker, Michael DeBeyer, Eric Hill, Katy Karnes, Jeff Taylor, James Arthur, Derek Heffernan, matt robinson, Peter Fotheringham, Ian LeTourneau, Mark van Dam, Matte Gallant-Robinson, J.J. Ford, Johnathan Dewar, Ginger Busch, Ron Arsenault, Denis Cassie.

The editor, Andrew Titus, was born and raised in the Saint John River Valley of New Brunswick. He lives in Fredericton NB, and graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a MA in Creative Writing. His writings have found various homes including Labour of Love, The Wascana Review and on CBC Radio One. For ten years he has been letting loose in bands including, currently, Ink Sheds Blood. His first novel, Sweet Mother Prophesy, was published in 2002 by Broken Jaw Press.
